Urban regeneration happens when two main factors collide. First is having an existing architectural tissue that may fit new uses. Second, new users willing to renovate and inhabit these areas, becoming booster catalysers.

Those two factors become true in Madrid’s Arganzuela neighbourhood; and particularly in the Pico del Pañuelo compound -an old residential complex built in the beginning of the XXth century for the nearby slaughterhouse workers.

M-House is one more apartment we had the opportunity to renovate in this area. Young and active professionals are moving to this neighbourhood next to one the largest green areas in Madrid and Matadero a new cultural centre that has become essential in the cultural life of the capital.

Again, renovating keeping the essence of the apartment in the tile flooring and high ceilings was the key to transform the space and adapt it to his new inhabitant -integrating the best of the old building and updating it with the newest equipment.
